Dillon is going to his fathers house in Ohio today for a visit. I'm not looking forward to the 7 hour drive there and back, but, Dill doesn't want to go at all. He had asked to call his dad last night and asked him if he could just stay home, and of course his dad said no. Dillon has been upset since then, I feel so bad and wish I could make him feel better. I have been trying to tell him a the positives of going there (seeing his half sisters, playing the Xbox 360 he has there etc.) it just doesn't seem to matter. He had told my husband Nathan last evening that he is going to refuse to get out of the car when we get there.

Love and Parenting
I am very lucky to have my husband! He his wonderful! Technically he is my two oldest children's stepfather, but, you wouldn't know it if you saw them. Our youngest is his biologically, but again you wouldn't know the difference. He has been in their lives for over 6 years now and they adore him. My son especially has a great bond with him, because he has a very rocky relationship with his real dad. My daughter loves them both and says she's lucky to have two dads and so many people who love her. We are all truly blessed to have him in our lives! <3

Discussing Treatments and Options Together
Dillon (my son) used to hate having ADHD. He felt that it made him different, he needed extra help, and it seemed like everything was harder for him. So, I decided as he was getting older I wanted to discuss his ADHD with him and his medicines to see how he felt they were working for him. I was surprised when he opened up about, he also had some really great ideas that we implemented and have been working for him.

ADD vs ADHD
I know I always wondered what the difference is between ADD and ADHD. So, I did some research to find out and actually got some quite interesting information I would like to share with you.
